Al has over 30 years’ experience in the medical device sales, business development, and consulting space, focusing primarily on the musculoskeletal and related technologies industry. He spent his first 23 years working as an independent agent for DePuy, Johnson and Johnson. During this time, he became one of the top sales representatives in the country and gained valuable knowledge of the inner workings of a major corporation.
In 2017 he left to become VP of Sales for Corin USA, a smaller, more engaged orthopedic company. During his time at Corin, he developed a global network and gained valuable insights into the challenges facing small market organizations backed by private equity. He was also given the opportunity to expand on his existing skill set to play pivotal roles in business development, supply chain, global decision making, and product development. During his time as VP of Sales, he formed Pivot MedTech, a disruptive and transparent organization focused on cost savings and bucking industry trends in the Ambulatory Surgery Center space. He was also given an advisory position with Parvizi Surgical Innovations (PSI), offering his subject matter expertise on the market viability for investment in novel medical devices and related technologies.
After 7 years of consulting on distribution, product development, go-to market strategies, investment, market intel, and private equity engagement, he decided to form North Medtech Advisors. Al has boldly formed a globally connected consulting and business development company that brings together a diversified group of industry and clinical experts to provide guidance and solutions to their respective clients.
In addition, Al has a particular interest in the finances of the US healthcare system and its relationship with key international markets.
